Chemical Peels

Suitale for Improving the appearance of wrinkles, acne scars, acne and acne rosacea, rough skin, age spots, pigmentation, for decreasing pore size and improving overall texture of the skin.

Solution

A Chemical peel is a versatile procedure that can successfully treat many different skin concerns, and now a days the formulations are such that they can even work with sensitive skin types such as rosacea. Chemical peels are one of the most widely used rejuvenation treatments which date back to the Egyptian times where bathing in milk (lactic acid) was common practice and thought to refine the texture of the skin. Chemical peels are particularly good for Acne, and fine lines and wrinkles.

How it Works

The treatment involves applying a chemical solution to the skin to create a controlled trauma. This trauma initiates the body’s own wound healing response which will encourage the skin cells to turnover quicker than usual and force the outer layer of the skin to desquamate or “shed”. Along with the shedding of skin the chemical agents are used to stimulate new collagen and elastin to be produced and therefore a popular antiaging treatment.

The peeling effect happens 48 hours post treatment and once it is complete the new fresh skin is revealed uncovering a fresh, refined and an overall more radiant appearance.

Chemical peels range from mild to deep. The best type for you depends on the severity of your skin problems. Deeper chemical peels can be applied; however, The Hurst Clinic recommends a course of mild to medium peels along with a supporting homecare routine for better longer lasting results and without the downtime a deeper chemical peel requires.
